The internal bungee cords for the poles to my REI HalfDome 2 have lost their elasticity.
Does anyone know where I can get more of this very thin bungee cord?

How about .... REI?  ;D

Look for a product called "shock cord."  

Of course there are many other outlets for this product.  Do a Google search.

Since your tent comes with aluminum poles, restringing is relatively simple.  However, if you need to do this for a carbon-fiber pole, I'd recommend getting a kit ... it contains a push rod for getting the shock cord through the smaller internal diameter.

If your pole cap doesn't secure the shock cord, remember to double/triple knot the cord to avoid "pull-through."

I may have to re-do my Halfdome 2 Plus poles in a few more years.

Duh, now why didn't I think of that?  ;)
Looks like the 7/64th black is just the right thing.
It is easy to get to the cord.  The ends of the Al poles come off with a twist.  I did that to shorten and "retie" them once, but the existing cord is severly degraded (yellowed, thinned out, no stretch).  Time for a "refill".
Other than that, the HalfDome 2 is holding up well.  It is a great tent for solo canoe camping.  Just the right amount of space and not to heavy or bulky.

Just a little tip....

When restringing the poles pull your end cap off & attach the new cord to the old & pull it through. If pole diameter is too small for a knot, super glue the shock-cord ends together 1st.

Another little tip:

Don't hold the shock cord with your teeth when under "load".

If the pole slips from your hand.... it hurts, can do significant tooth damage and will cause you to seriously question your IQ.

Contact REI service and tell them about the problem.  They may fix the poles, or send you the cord, under warranty.

If REI won't do it under warranty, I'd shoot over to Thrifty Outfitters, above Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis.  I have poles to my old tent there right now.  Five bucks a pole and a few cents for the cord.  Plus, they do great work.

Must be why they call it shock cord! :o :o :o

Another maintenance tip: I was told that when you are taking the poles apart, start in the middle and work out to both ends.  Apparently this approach causes less stretch on the cord.  I'm not a physics major, but it is a simple thing I can do, so I do it.
