I run an Eagle 168 (same unit as a 242 but doesn't come with the plastic caddy).

I'm a "thru the hull" shooter (which likely takes slightly more power) and I run 8-AA Lithium Batt's.  I don't have to replace them on a two-week trip, but I'd say I'm a light to medium user (don't tend to fish all day).
