Shoot, my bad.
I know the trend is against freeze dried but I can eat it just fine. I like the mountain house Lasagna and the pasta prima vera. Lightweight, no fuss, completely indestructible packaging and the only mess kit you need is a 16 oz cup to heat water. If I were doing anything over 10 days it would be part of my strategy. Another big advantage is Mr. Bear won't eat it. When a stray snickers bar gave my stashed food bag away (fortunately we were on our way out ....Sawbill lake) he ate everything but the freeze dried. A single investigative tooth puncture was all it took for him to decide it wasn't up to par. I ended up tossing it but if I were in the backcountry's behind I would be mighty glad to have it. |
