the usual fillet knife, a leatherman, and one of those little eating knifes that come with the spoon and fork that all clamp together.
have you ever had trouble crossing into canada with that knife? i would have to assume that most of the guys here on quietjourney dont have the same issues my group have with age (we are all between 20-24 now, but we started as 18 year olds and generally have a younger guy with us). weve been the victims of some really intense searches, ridiculous things even, so we keep it very simple. its to the point where we disclose that we have fillet knives when the ask for 'weapons' because of how weve been treated in the past. for that reason i tend to advise the guys to bring a fillet knife and a small pocket knife just so we dont have issues. generally, if you cant do it with a fillet knife, pocket knife, and your hatchet, its not worth doing. if you have a hatchet/little bowsaw for wood, fillet knife for fishing, and a pocket knife for cutting rope/line/whittling, i cant really imagine anything else youd need to do |
