Title: Current live bait conditions Post by Pax on May 18th, 2010 at 11:40pm
Anyone been fishing in the BW with live bait this spring? I was just wondering if the eyes are still on minnows or if they're starting to lean towards leeches. Thanks - Pax

Just like a crutch, if it helps me along I'm all for it, just like beer too.

My brother says Shiners are still the top bait - as of today anyway.

Well, the worms currently found in Minnesota aren't native to Minnesota anyway. Other worms found further south might be native to that area.
Fossilized worm burrows have been found in Early Cambrian (570-540 million year old) rocks in (at least) Western Canada. Although those early Skolithos critters were probably a lot different from today's night crawlers, worms of some sort have been here for a long time. |
