Here's a little tip I picked up off of some PBS show about cleaning and using "green" type household items. Fill your Jug with clean water and add a couple of tablespoons of baking soda. Shake well, and let sit for a few days. Rotate on its side occasionally so all the plastic gets touched. I use this on all water carriers that are plastic, jugs/Camelback type containers etc. etc. Also before using the jug as after they've been stored dry for awhile. Will take the plastic taste right away, and you don't have to worry about chemicals. A cup of vinegar in water, following the same directions will disinfect and clean the jug before you "sweeten it" ;) |
