one spare for each two canoes might be enough, or not
the only time we ever broke a paddle on a trip, we (not me) broke two, and luckily, we had a spare for each canoe. we were able to field repair the wooden paddle which had a broken shaft - shaved an angle on the two parts to scarf them together, epoxied, and wrapped with wire, it still made a usable spare for the rest of the trip |
