I paddled with HER, May 20007.
I paddled a SR 16 tandem, backward from the front seat, using a 9 ft yak paddle. I kept up just fine, unless she was just taking it easy on me ;D
I'd look into that, with a 14 ft solo, you would really fly, into the wind and running with it.
