Title: Re: MSR wind pro review Post by mastertangler on Aug 10th, 2010 at 8:50pm
Geez
All this talk of punctures and fuel canisters blowing up. And all I was mostly worried about was a little extra weight and the thought of having to throw the canisters out (not exactly environmentally friendly). I guess I'm not into pumping and priming and worrying if my fuel is good or that it leaked. So far so good, but all I ever get is the MSR canisters. I'll never forget pulling into the communal eating area in Glacier National park (you never eat at your campsite). There were 3 other young guys there and we chatted while they pumped and primed. They were quite preoccupied with their tasks. I watched and then for the first time I pulled a pocket rocket out, screwed it on and flicked a bic. I was quite pleased as it roared like a blowtorch. It's been a love affair ever since.........of course I've got a sleeker, newer, shinier one now and the faithful old standby will have to play second fiddle........A rather common American story these days (unfortunately). |
