Title: Montbell Down sleeping bag review Post by TimA on Sep 17th, 2010 at 7:59pm
Sleep is sometimes a hard thing for me whether at home or in the bush. So I have been trying out multiple sleeping pads, bags--combos to see where I can get the most comfort/sleep.
My new favorite bag is the Montbell UL Super Spiral #3. (You need to Login or Register It keeps you warm down to 30 degrees. Montbell is known for having temp ratings that are actually accurate (western mountaineering is another line that is accurate) and not just hope full like some other bags I have owned :(. Negatives: Price. No padlocks to attach bag to sleeping pad--I actually don't miss them form other models I tried but some people might. Some of that may be I use a wider 25 inch pad though as well. Durability?? Very light weight material afraid it would not hold up to abuse--I haven't had any issues though Positives: COMFORT----Has a stretch baffling system that hugs your body for extra warmth but still moves with you so you don't feel like you are in a coffin. The comfort with the stretch system is amazing in my opinion. If you roll around or are a side sleeper like me it makes a big difference. Weight/bulk--regular is only 1# 5 oz. and rolls up smaller than a nalgene bottle. Full length zipper for warmer nites when you just want to use it like a blanket. Accurate temp rating. T |
