"Dock" spider pic is indeed the critter that run around on the shore.
This one ran across my ( fortunately) gloved hand on Quetico lake as I was getting some split firewood next to fire pit.

I'm not afraid of creepy crawler's, A buddy has tarantulas, but I'd never seen a spider that big in the North country and was so surprised/shocked, I'll admit I screamed like a little girl :-[

I never use to check shoes for overnight guests, but I do now ;)
