whether you're worried about coyotes, wolves, or bears or not, consider and keep in mind that a predator coming in for prey is a different animal than one otherwise casually encountered -

Heeding these words.

This is not something one would want to do while in camp.

Still, I'm unconcerned about bear encounters.  Wolf attacks are even more rare.  Wind & lightning are bigger worries.  I know of more people who have had trees fall on/near them than the one who was attacked by a bear, and to be fair he attacked the bear which was attacking his dog.

Wolf howls?  Every time I try or am with someone who tries we hear the 'pack' camped on the next lake over howl back.  A couple times have caught up with them the next day and had to set them straight that it was us, not wolves.  Even had people claim they heard wolves when what they heard were loons.
