I made a reply to the   (You need to Login or Register before I saw this one open. Virtually all predator calls do the same thing: mimic the sounds of a small animal in distress. Anything that squeaks or squeals, in combination with something like rustling leaves with a stick or bouncing small rocks across the ground should have the same result as any store-bought call. Dog toys, blades of grass blown through between your fingers, etc. could all make the noises you want.

I'd try that stuff before going out and buying a store-bought call. Get a feel for what works by experimentation (handy excuse to spend time in the woods), and then if you're still thinking about a store-bought call, you will have a much better idea of what to look for. There's certainly no shortage of them on the market.
