I was following the thread about Pine Knots trip and noted there was some interest in his quality pics especially since they were self taken. Rather than take the focus off his stellar trip I though a new post might be in order.

While his pics came out well his methodology would probably end in tragedy if I employed it (BLOOP!......< this is the sound a small camera makes when it enters the water  :'( ).

DD's mount has merit. I'm sure others have their own gadgets.

I really like what I use. Very adjustable and very light yet strong. The legs can wrap around a thwart or a branch or you can just set it up on a stump tri-pod fashion. Check it out.

got one, and second that for my UZ P&S type cams.  Like it!

just checked out the price on a Joby sturdy enough to hold my DSLR and good sized lens!  Think I had a mini-stroke!

One other thought is it might be pretty nice to mount a camera and capture some video while paddling a creek or near shore.
