Has anyone ever visited the ruins of the Spaulding mine on Spaulding Lake in the BWCA? Any clues on how to find it?

no clue, but a suggestion

most mines are indicated on standard topo maps, if they existed the last time the map was updated - does not seem to matter if they are old and shut down

Mad_mat's topo suggestion is good - but I can't see it on the (fairly current) ones I have.

This story might yield good clues...

Thanks for the suggestions from both of you. The topo idea is a good one, I think I might try to scour some old survey maps for clues. I am planning looking for the mine site during a trip this summer. I will let you know if I find anything.
