Title: Re: Railriders sale Post by Kerry on Jan 10th, 2011 at 2:20pm
No, no. I'm with you on quality, MT. Everything from my fishing gear down to my socks are researched and considered. Some of my tripping buddies think I'm sometimes over the top and that may be true, but for me it's fun to really look for the best possible solution to meet a need. And of course when we're on the water everybody wants to use my gear which I'm happy to share. I'd rather wait and do without for awhile rather than buy something shoddy that I will only have to replace and, like you, I get real pleasure out of using an article of quality. It's an old chestnut that says the best fishing gear won't catch you more fish. And that's true, but, as a former designer and craftsman (furniture) I know the difference between what will suffice and what will enhance one's experience. If I only had a canvas tent and an oar for a paddle I'd still be out there on the water but equipping myself with gear that is well thought out and well crafted just adds to the pleasure - but I always carry a roll of duct tape just in case!
As for Railriders, I'm on their list and it seems that eventually everything goes on sale so when the time comes I'll pick up a pair. |
