I passed through Boot last September and fished the left shoreline from the Fourtown portage to the Fairy Lake portage.  Caught one nice walleye (27") just above the heel of the boot.  The SW corner of the lake has a shallow slough and just north of is a rocky ledge.  Fish off this ledge.  The depth drops off 20-35' a very close to the base of the ledge.  We were trolling #9 shad raps crawdad pattern.

Additionally, looking further north, the leg of the boot narrows down and you have another rocky ledge on the west shoreline.  At about midpoint on that ledge is a reef that runs out to the SE.  Troll the drop along either side of that reef.  It should be a good locale for feeding walleyes (tho we missed any additional fish that day.)

Boot has a nice campsite on the right shoreline close to the Fourtown portage.  It was occupied that day.  We moved on to Gun Lake and found a nice campsite on the north shore in the southern basin.
