Why they're not public may relate to the spirit of BW/Q? Since there are no designated sites and trippers are not required/expected to set a route & stick to it. Unlike places like Massasauga which have site-specific reservations or APP which has lake-specific reservations, BW/Q only requires the in/out dates & a loose framework of a route for SAR purposes.
The ON MNR is quite protective of their records and the records are fragmented across departments. I've spoken with Jeff who makes the best (You need to Login or Register and he has had some Access To Information roadblocks. Some are intentional, but others are simply because the MNR knows they have the data - just no idea where it is. If the data is known, then FoIA/AtI should cover the ability to get it. |
