My info will mostly relate to fishing, I do remember the last two portages into Mack were tough with the last section into Mack waste deep in mud with biting flys and mosquitos. The NW corner of Mack has a large bay. If you like large Pike this is a good area to cast for a trophy. The transition between the main lake and that bay is an awesome place to fish for bass and walleye. The Wawiag is a day long trip from Mack to Kawnipi. The first site into Kawa Bay on your left as you enter the bay is a keeper. Moose in the AM and PM are a high probability. The mouth of Kawa bay and the narrows a few miles down the bay are absolute magnets for many SM, walleye and pike. This section of lake is probably about the best fishing you will find anywhere.
