You are right ... my tests on creating these parts myself didn't result in the holes all cleanly aligned. I think I'd need to make a jig to get that level of accuracy. As for MSR looking into this adaptation, I would think it to be a no-brainer. The roarer-type burner is a design that is prominent in Primus stoves, so for MSR to use the "flame/sound disperser" would not likely involve any more copyright/patent issues than the burner itself. Of course, I didn't run my project long enough to determine if there is a fuel efficiency difference or the BTU output is modified, but I would doubt any significant impact. dd |
