We are looking to go through McAlPine to Kasakokwog and I would like to kjnow if anyone has fished McAlpine and if so what species and size did you find?

SaltedLeech,
Furtman's book says "Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye". It's been quite a few years since we passed through there. We didn't fish it at all but I seem to recall seeing a fair amount of shallows around the lake and a lot of downed timber. I'm a little surprised that the book says it holds trout. Didn't look deep enough to me. Furtman's book doesn't say anything about smallmouth but I gotta imagine they're in there by now, too. Jimbo 8-) |

Fished it on a pass thru a couple times, if the wind permitted, but only caught some smaller Northerns. Kasakokwog is a better lake to fish, IMO. LT, NP, SM and W for sure.

I'm gonna get killed for saying this. McAlpine has trout but not the kind you're thinking of.
It also has SM - plenty of them. The walleye are few and the pike are plentiful but like jimmar mentioned, a little on the scrawny side. |

we went into McAlpine mid-August 2010
really windy day, caught several suspended s/m on sheer wall drops and points on a narrow lake like this, it was interesting when we got on fish & tried to hold our position some decent ones--some small ones good entertainment for a day paddle |

Nice. They are a little bigger than that in McAlpine. ;) |
