P.S.  I really didn't address an important observation made by KF... that of larger guys needing to consume and, therefore, carry more calories & liquids.  THAT must have been a challenging consideration/equation for the fur trading outfit that hired Mr. La Bomba... would he carry enough additional weight to offset the amount he would consume?!  I LOST twelve pounds in as many days in WCP w/KF last year and, yet, without a doubt I consumed a good many more calories than my two lightweight companions (though KF's consumption of high-calorie adult beverages WAS prodigious!).  Anyway, when I consider the matter in this light, I have to give the edge to lightweights (a body type that the wilderness was working hard to GIVE me!).  Of course, this factor gets nullified IF you happen to be an EXCELLENT fisherman... THEY don't have to carry so many of their calories across portages or bushwhack terrain!
