Good advice MP.........I will pass it on that there are indeed other good solos out there.

I hadn't even known they were entertaining the thought of picking up some new rides. I expressed my concerns to them this evening about the cold water and they were completely receptive and were in fact one step ahead of me wanting some practice time and are considering a trailer.

New boats or not I still intend to discourage them from paddling solos on Superior. Still going to be frigid in June. (hopefully the gigantimungus northerns will still be shallow........another reason for a bigger boat ;) )
