Walleye #1 for me, Pike #2, LT #3, and if I have to smallies #4.   Smallies do taste quite good in Quetico but are a fish of last resort for me. Heck, I love all kinds of fish and all the fish up north are good tasting to me. To each his own.

I think I've filleted 5 smallies in the past 15 years or so and 4 of them were at the specific request of others in my party.  I can only recall one meal where we had to fillet a smallie to round out the meal.
