My last two trips were with borrowed solo canoes and clamp-on yokes. I remember having to remove them since they were in the way so I'm not sure if I get where your aiming.

Come to think of it. Last year's had the sling type pads (i think) which I've hated in the past but at that weight I couldn't complain. Well, there was that one time I needed to back-out of a tight spot and was really pissed when the seat made turning the yolk around a no go. It clamped on and off pretty easily though.
