I haven't tried it yet. But with the Base Camp output hose connected to the output of the Hiker Pump, you should be able to back flush the Base Camp with clean water from your Hiker.

Not sure what the Katadyn instructions are, but the MSR says to back-flush with filtered water using gravity.  Just reverse the position of the two containers.

Some filters will crack with too much pressure.  Some have a pressure valve to prevent this.

I find the MSR needs a 1/2L backflush after 10-12L of filtering.
