Hi again.

The fish I caught did not have a sucker mouth. Given its shape (sort of football-ish) I would have assumed Whitefish if it had a sucker mouth. It was about 14-16 inches and looked more silvery (identical to the picture linked above) instead of much smaller and white like the mooneye.

It seems out of place for a White Bass (more prominant in South Eastern Ontario and the US) but given the pictures, size and shape, I am fairly convinced that it must have been. I have a lousy picture that my wife took as I was struggling not to lose the fish as it flipped from my hands onto the rock.  ::) I will post the picture tomorrow. Perhaps it may help with the mystery.
