I have had great success using Blakemore Road Runners in 1/4----3/8 oz.
For Waldos the Red Head with White Twister tail has been the ticket. In a river/current cast the 3/8 oz across a hole and let it drop in. Your doing it right when you can feel it clickty/clacking along the bottom. For Smallies its the Yellow/White jig head, Yellow/White tail. When all else fails a nice slow retrieve so you can feel it clattering on the bottom seems to get them when other lures won't. I rig mine completely weedless but either way the slow presentation with that spinner blade throb seems to attract them. I see they offer them in salt water sizes. I bet they would do well on Lakers in warmer weather with a heavier jig head? For the money, you can't beat them. |
