I have the Apex 3XT model. I've had it for ~10 years and we love it. In Montana in 2005 we endured a severe 15-hour storm with heavy wind and rains (we still talk about this storm). In Quetico in 2007 it rained most of every single day. Plus a few bad storms in the Rockies, and it's never let in a drop of water. There are lighter options out there, but it's been bombproof for us. Only minor complaint: the pole sections are a little bit longer than my Duluth Pack, so I have to pack it on top under the flap.
