There used to be a show called Charlie White's Fishing Machine. Charlie would troll around the world with an underwater camera rig set up right in front of the lure.

The question isn't if the lure looks good to you. But does it look good to the fish? Fishing tackle companies have gotten pretty good at making lures look good to fishermen. If the lure looks good to fishermen, it is an added bonus if the lure catches fish. I mean what's natural abount a nightcrawler to a fish. If you recall a previous discussion, nightcrawlers are an invasive species.

Hey Preacher, I used to love watching that show! Really neat seeing the fish come in and slam the lures. Might just have to try and find some reruns on youtube.
If anyone is interested, you can see underwater actions of all rapala lures by going to their site. From north America you'll be re-directed to the rapalaworld site, which doesn't have the videos. Following this link will get you there though: (You need to Login or Register I think its neat, as I think lure action (tight or wide wobble), plays an important part re. success, depending on season/water temps. This might give some insight as to how the lure will run in the water. Moonman. |
