Nice story,  I am not him :)
Reading this reminded me of a young couple I met on my first solo to WCPP.  I paddled by their campsite on Lunch Lake in the early morning, and they caught up to me about Lunch time.  I was sitting on a rock, resting, and they got out of the canoe with their dog, and portaged a small portage they came back picked up my canoe and pack and headed to the end of the portage with my stuff. (nice of them)  So we had a bite of lunch together, and said our pleasantries, and off they paddled.  I caught up with them on Mexican Hat lake.  Chatted a bit, and never saw them again.  Nice young couple, and nice dog!
