I've giving some thought to doing a Wabakimi trip in 2013.  I'd be interested in your take on traffic levels.  Seems to be a significant number of fly-in lakes and cabins (not to mention motor boats and caches).  I'd also like to hear your experience in your east to west movement with respect to predominant wind direction. 

The east side route I've been looking at would likely start just east of Collins and head north to Sliderock and maybe as far north as Whitewater before turning south toward Caribou.  However, given the current train schedule, doing it east to west (like you) does make more sense.
