Title: Re: Sylvania Wilderness Post by mastertangler on Mar 7th, 2012 at 10:02pm
My regular canoeing partner always has good things to say about Sylvania as we pass it every time on our way to the Quetico. My understanding is the lakes are very clear.
He would go very early in the year to try and hit the lakes when the smallmouth spawn was on. I know I have heard the stories 50 times of the whoppers he has caught off the beds........especially during bad weather. Anyway......if you plan to fish take the clear water into consideration. He also caught some lakers jigging a yellow northland bucktail jig with a bit of mylar in it. The last thing I remember was the lakes can be susceptible to wind. |
