Sylvania is a great alternative for me living in NC Wisconsin. 2 hours vs 9 to Atikokan. Beautiful crystal clear water in most lakes. Catchable LT population in Clark Lake. In early June, when we usually go, the bass fishing is incredible. Simple black rubber worm on light jig head is all it takes. Most bass are large, largest SM I caught was 23". Due to catch and release and no live bait, the bass population is amazing for lakes that are typically very infertile with stunted fish. Excellent jumbo bluegills in one particular lake. Only issue is that it is difficult to get a campsite as they fill up fast. Just plan ahead and reserve early. Have never been disappointed.
