I have a battery holder I like and like others have stated about their equipment, I am partial to my battery holder.  I pulled the one I have been using out of my canoe and let it hang by the wires to get a picture. It is made out of a pipe left over from one of my wife’s curtain rods.

I need another so I had to buy a piece of pipe for the job.  I have got all the pieces together for another one but have not assembled it yet.

What is in the second picture is a .020” wall SS tubing long enough to hold all but 1/8 inch of 10 AA batteries. A SS washer punched out of .015” shim stock.  This will be soldered to the end of the SS tubing. Two brass 6-32 * ½”screws and 4 nuts. There is a PVC cap with a coupling inside it that has been bored out to be a easy slip fit over the SS tubing. The bungee cord  will go between the crimp on connectors on each end of the holder.  Wires will attach to the  6-32 screws that stick out each end of the holder.  The plastic clips are mounted on scraps of wood to make them easy to glue to the side of the boat just below the gunnel. This battery holder for 10 AA batteries weighs 5.0 oz  + 2 nuts I forgot to weigh.
