Anyone ever use dehydrated sour cream powder for cooking on trips?

There are a couple of recipes that I'm looking at that call for sour cream.  The one I'm most interested in runs something like this:

2 tbsp olive oil
2 lbs. hash brown potatoes
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 med. onion, chopped
10 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Of course, I may play with the recipe a bit by adding cubes of chicken or ground beef.  I'm thinking a "one-pot" meal here that I can park in a reflector oven.
