-Oh,  I'm 600 miles south of Ely.  Gas Will be an issue. (they're talkin' $5.00/gallon---it's sure to be $4.00/g)   ...and though I can neither confirm,nor deny this...there may have been a" youthful indiscresion" back in 1986.( That's got to be beyond the "collective memory"...Oui? )    Beyond the gas prices,all of the Canadian fees,combined with rentals, ... a trip like this is a little bit more than a poor man's gettaway.  Good thing it's so very beautiful up there.
