I camped on one of the island sites in Veron a couple of years ago - I recall it was fairly nice - I think there was another camp a mile away that was occupied. 

Been thru Camel a few times - I think there were people camped there one of three trips or so.  Veron from Camel isn't too bad to travel - nice stream and decent trails - its a longer path via the "death march" from Conmee
