Vance......I am a big believer in learning from others. I have neither the time nor inclination to learn by trial and error and will initially see what more learned people have to say. Then I will adapt to what suits me.

Do yourself a big favor and get Cliff Jacobs DVD "Forgotten Skills". You will be setting up a tarp in fine style quickly and efficiently.
You will learn the advantage of using a "ridgeline" rope to provide a stable and solid start. You will learn the art of using ropes and lines, quick release knots, sheet bends and truckers hitches. You will also learn how to store your ropes for quick and easy use.

I like a dedicated center pole to prevent sagging and pooling in inclement weather. REI has a fine collapsible model which I like very much.......all this talk has me ready to go!
