Title: Tango prop bait Post by mastertangler on Jan 16th, 2013 at 3:16pm
I am quite blessed to have a wonderful place to bike ride. The trail extends 100 miles around lake Okeechobee. I do a modest 10 a day. Abundant wildlife and pretty good shore fishing is a bonus. More often than not I will have a Tango Prop bait on......it is a big fish bang-em lure (one between 5 and 7 today). I suspect it would be a slay-em top water smally bait in canoe country.
What makes the lure so deadly is the slight roll to the side on the pop. It can be a fairly quiet bait but where it excels is in kicking up a ruckus. For that reason I would not hesitate to use the bait with a slight chop on the water even in the middle of the day during June or early july. This bait will pull them off the bottom........ The eyelet is fat and light line will make a poor connection. Minimum would be 8lb xt and 10lb would probably be best. The tie fast tool and the gryp knot excels when tying mono to something larger in diameter than itself (no easy accomplishment). Still want to use light line? No problem just add a snap and then tie off. One problem of note.......Braid tends to wrap itself around the front eyelet where the prop is attached. If you don't note when it happens it is safe to assume you will lose it......bummer for you and the fish. They are a tad pricey but get 2 so when that 20" pike takes it away from you there is a backup ;). In spite of my grumpy political analysis I try and be generous and help folk have a good time......I don't think you will be disappointed if you give these a whirl (pun not intended) definitely a big fish bait 8-). (You need to Login or Register FWIW......River 2 Sea has some very interesting and productive lures. I was always a big Larry Dahlberg fan. Premium stuff :thumbup (You need to Login or Register |

That Dahlberg diving frog is pretty cool. :thumbup
As for the other stuff you said, I didn't much like your attitude. ;) |

Wise guy..... 8-) The Dahlberg frog looks super cool......I saw a vid on the action once and was pretty much blown away. I suppose I'll have to get one. That craw looks killer too after you watch the vid on that thing. More toys I think I will have time to use but end up being dust collectors :P |
