As some of you may know, Robin Reilly, superintendent of Quetico Park left last year to take over superintendent duties at Sandbanks Provincial Park in southern Ontario. His replacement on an acting basis was Jeff Bonnema. I heard that recently interviews were held to select a new permanent superintendent and Jeff Bonnema was one of the people interviewed for the post.

Do anyone know the results of this process? Has a new permanent superintendent been announced? I've looked at various places on-line but haven't found anything about this.

That's Ontario way the heck out in the Atlantic on Newfoundland?  Shows how little I know - or how little Google Maps knows.  Bizarre.

OK - I found the real Sandbanks PP - north shore of Lake Ontario towards the east end.  (I could almost see it from my mother in laws place.) That was weird.

I checked the Atikokan Progress (local paper) to see who is replacing Robin Reilly. The answer is 'Atikokan MNR area manager Jeff Bonnema will fill in this summer (with park assistant superintendent Jennifer Lukacic)'. They will hopefully hire a full time replacement in the fall.
I hope Robin loves Sandbanks. It has beautiful beaches and the dunes are wonderful there, but it is a MUCH busier campground with all the hassles that go with that.

FYI - The 2012 Q visitor Guide has a story discussing the changes to the Superintendant.

Just came back from Q and the 2013 Quetico Information Guide shows Jeff as the Superintendent.  No mention of "interim".
