Due to a rather long and cold winter with plenty of snow, the interior Ranger stations were unable to open during the Victoria Day long weekend. A helicopter was sent in to open the stations; landing on the iced-in lakes. After melting and subsequent rains, the water levels are high. The wildlife is back; even the Pink Lady Slippers are beginning to bloom. This year is Quetico's centennial as a Provincial Park. Be sure to stop by the Dawson Trail Campgrounds on the weekends and catch some of our great Natural and Cultural Heritage programming!
