Thanks to Quentin and zski for the loan of fish detectors. About 2 hours taking data on Whalon puddle and then plotting it up and this is what I get.

So the deeper you go the more current you draw but for most detectors not more than 20%. By the way the detector that I liked the best is the Lowrence X-4
