I got no clue. I remembered the commercial when a friend asked me if I tried it. We both assumed it was a spray because after discussing it a bit, we both agreed you couldn't brush it on.

They make sealers too.
I can vouch for the product at least the things I've bought.
Not cheap, but when they're applied as directed and fully cured, they harden like ceramic.

Maybe not for everything like NeverWet claims it is, but I've always found that many of those items that claim to many uses never do anything really well. :-/

The commercials make it look awesome.

Someone I know has a kit he wants to use on his satellite dish for blizzard type events. I looked at the destructions briefly. One part says it's not intended for clothing. Another part mentioned that if you put it on breathable clothing, the thicker you apply the base coat, the less breathable it will be.

We all know that perfect would be a dwr coating that never gave up.

I'm hoping for a good day so he does his dish and brings in the rest so we can play/test with what's left.

oh, don't waste it - coat the bottom of your canoe and a couple of strokes is all you'd need to cross Pickeral Lake

Well I finally tried this product. I've coated our Zavs. The blade plus 8 inches up the shaft. Two base coats and two top. It added .6 of a gram to the weight and an ugly hazy white rough to touch finish. In the water the blade felt exactly like it always has. (same pull) As soon as you pull it out it drips for a split second and then it's dry. The front of the boat didn't get a single drop of water sprayed on it while paddling sit and switch. An Indian stroke is dead silent because the water doesn't creep up the blade at all. Any stroke taking the blade out of the water is a lot quieter now with less spray and a lot less dripping. Durability doesn't seem to be a strong point. Hard rubbing will remove the coating easily. We'll see what the future brings on this. Surely no poling for this product. Canoers using kayak paddles can really benefit from this product. No more wet boat from all the drips. Same probably goes for kayakers. Canoeists with ottertails (or like) will benefit for the quietness and overall weight savings of not picking up all that extra water and Zav owners for the weight savings. So bottom line is I'll try it for a season and see how it goes.

Hmmm, 0.6 of a gram? How much do those drips weigh? It won't make my paddle any less ugly. If the guy brings his kit in to play with (and he probably will) in I'll try it on my paddle. I have a thwart bag that could use some help too but that may be pushing the envelope a little.
