Title: Old Salt and Wally 13 at Canoecopia Post by Spartan2 on Mar 10th, 2014 at 3:10pm
I felt privileged to be asked to photograph the premiere presentation of Old Salt and Wally 13 at Canoecopia 2014 on Sunday. Their talk, entitled “Planning a Fishing-Based Wilderness Canoe Trip” was most informative, very well-planned, and presented in an eye-pleasing and interesting format.
It began with a stunning slide show of fishermen showing off their beautiful catches. I was in a great position for catching the silhouette of Old Salt himself with the photos in the background: (You need to Login or Register (You need to Login or Register (You need to Login or Register After whetting our appetite with all of the successful catches, the lights came up and Jimbo gave the introduction for the two master fishermen who were going to present the information. Wally will have to answer that one. When I was talking, I was getting the choke sign. ;D

He wasn't nodding off. I think he was concentrating very hard on what he was going to say, and looking humble. ;) I never saw him at any time when he was sleeping. I did see him giving the "hurry up" sign a lot to Old Salt, however. They had enough information for two presentations! :)

I sure hope I wasn't nodding off ... though Ranger, you are right on .... it sure looks that way ... pretty sure I was in "DEEP THOUGHT".
Also, from a few of the pics that Spartan2 took ....I can see I better start working out to get ready for this years trip. Even Rich made a zinger about my big beer belly. When I had the sunrise and sunset pics of me with a couple of nice big fat walleyes ... Rich said "Look at the belly on those guys". He got a nice laugh from the crowd ... then I realized he was joking about MY BIG BELLY. Good one Rich. Had a lot of fun preparing and doing the presentation with Old Salt. We both wanted to do a good job of representing fellow QJ'ers at our website. I really did enjoy the camaraderie between all of those that attended Copia this year. If anyone has ideas about a topic for next years Copia or would like to participate in any way ... please let me and/or Rich know. My best, Mike |

Obviously, the remark about the big bellies was directed at the waldos. I would never insinuate anything of the kind regarding my co-presenter. That would be the pot calling the kettle black. :o
