Carnation Instant Breakfast - which is called Breakfast Essentials now.
Depending on volume - for one serving;using premeasured Nido in a baggy sandwich bag - take a sandwich sized ziplock bag - add your cup of water, then pour in the Nido - seal and shake vigorously; carefully open and add the instant breakfast - shake vigouously (best if you roll down the top a turn or two to prevent any leakage out of the seal - occasionally a drop or two will leak out of the corners of the seal. You can squeeze the bag between your fingers if you find any lumps, to mush up the lump - then pour into your cup. Along with the instant breakfast, I will have a "granola bar" of some sort - usually one of the nutrition bars of whatever variety, or some sort of packaged "cookie" like a Little Debby cinnamon streusel, or blueberry muffin. I have never had any issues with the nido not mixing using the shake the bag method. Instead of mixing non-fat plus nido to get 2%, why not just buy Milkman which is 2% - it was off the market for a number of years, but is back in production mow. I haven't seen it in the grocery store, but REI sells it - $3 per quart pouch is expensive though - likely could buy it online somewhere for a lot less. Nido is easiest found at Walmart, in the Mexican Food section. Maybe at a Whole Foods type of store also. I also use the Nido/Milkman to mix up INSTANT pudding - same methodology, just shale the pudding mix for a minute or two, then put the ziplock into a second ziplock to keep lake water off, tie a string to the bag and toss into the lake - sets up nicely. for solo trips, I do a half package of pudding with one cup of milk - adjust as needed for group size. |
