i like to basecamp, i dont like packing up/moving/unpacking. we push hard our first day to get into our lake of choice. i could spend my entire life fishing on the same lake and never get bored. im a creature of habit. i would rather know a lakes ever curve/bay/reef/rock than pass by a bunch of good stuff traveling.

on our way in, we troll a few spots, but then pass through a few lakes with the rods stowed away. easier travel that way.

we troll mainly for trout and jig for walleyes. open water trolling leads to less lost equipment. i dislike scraping bottom with my crankbaits because all it takes is one sharp rock and its gone.
