I try to avoid the springy branches. They complicate the throw/hang for me. I'll take a foot long vestige of a broken branch any day, especially when it's on the windward side of the tree at 15'. Less opportunity for tangles and looping the throw rope around a branch again.

Its not that I like springy branches they just get in my way.
I have used all of the rope a couple of times but if I did not have that much rope there was probably another location that would have worked requiring less rope.  Having a 4 to 1 mechanical advantage requires more line to go over the pulleys making a tangle more likely.
