Nice report. What a great trip you had. I missed my chance at seeing a Woodland Caribou a couple years ago as I guess a boat scared it off before I caught up to tripping partners. (I was fishing) I think I know the campsite you were talking about on Aegean. Did you see the cave there? What a great trip after having to cut that other attempt short when your knee blew. Thanks for the report.

Hi Ben, I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. Yes it was a fine time and I can't stop thinking about it > although it is much the same with every trip. Think about it for weeks after and get into a little bit of a funk. To compensate I have already starting planning next years trip which puts me into my "happy place".

Cave? What cave? Oh THAT cave.........well, ahem, I had to have someplace to put the cuttings that were out of the way. ;D.................I'm kidding, i don't remember seeing any cave. I remember a huge erratic just outside of camp that created a bit of a lean to effect and thought it would make a great place to do some business if it was raining hard.

Hey thanks MP. One thing that never fails to amaze me is just how quickly wildlife can apprehend your presence even from far away. I tried to slip up on a very big moose and didn't paddle when he looked up and drifted behind a point to sneak up on Him (I was pretty far away) and when I popped out he was gone. Not like the Bullwinkle character that got caught with his pants down in the creek.

When I go I expect to see stuff. I try to blend in and I tend to paddle near shore and am a big believer in being quiet. If you go expecting to see things you start actually looking and that is the key.

You bet zski. I know it is a bit lengthy and sort of hard to wade through so if folk are enjoying the report that is a good thing.

I'm glad you enjoyed the report Knaflec......

Yup nice time, I thought last years trip was one of the best ever but this year was just as good but for different reasons.

The camera is a Panasonic lumix. Compact, shockproof to 6' and most importantly, waterproof. Decent zoom for a smaller camera. I picked it up (like much of my gear) based on recommendations here on QJ.
