Title: fish id
Post by Puckster on Jan 28th, 2015 at 7:47pm
Anyone know what kind of fish this is?

It was caught in the Irish Sea, south of the Isle of Man

This isn't a quiz.  I don't know what kind of fish this is, and neither does my daughter-in-law, who caught it.

Not a sewer trout. I've seen them floating, and I know one when I see it!

I believe that's a member of the Squalidae dog fish species. It's obviously a "Luck Dogg"  ;) ;D ;D

I beg to differ........We have lots of those here in south Florida and I see them all the time. It is from the genus Lovliess maximus. They are exceedingly difficult to catch and require lots of time as well as money. I have caught only 1 in all my years.

I looked at the link ST sent, and I think an Atlantic Cod is the closest thing.  I'll tell her.  She'll be impressed with the wisdom represented on this website!
